A small group of Laurentian students chose to stay out of class as a form of protest based on the current phase of ETFO struck work. Our priority is to ensure student safety. We communicated a message to all students at the start of the day that any form of protest was that individual student’s choice.

Students who participated in the protest spent the day in the MPR room and were supervised by administration at all times. Students were provided with writing resources and were encouraged to express their personal opinions in the form of a letter.

Students expressed to administration that they would like their voice heard. Our expectation is that students will return to the classroom on October 29, ready to participate in all classes during the day. We would encourage all families to have a discussion regarding the events of today.

Parents with any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the main office.
